CORE
VALUES
(
What we believe is of great importance )
Truth
We value God’s truth and all subsequent truth that points to and
supports it.
Trust
We value faith in Jesus Christ, a sincere trust in God that He is Who He
claims to be and will do all that He promises to do. We therefore also
value having trust in His children who follow Him.
Love
We value true love that comes from God, is evidenced in Christ’s death
for us and is produced in us by His Spirit. The primary trait of God’s
love is the sacrifice of one’s self for God’s purposes and the people He
loves. Love values the individual because they are made in His image.
Forgiveness
We value the mercy which God has shown to us by not punishing us
according to what we deserve. God did not ignore sin in His mercy, but
rather He absorbed its horrific consequences. Thus we value genuine
forgiveness as an empowerment and reflection of God.
Grace
We value grace as the benevolent favor of God whereby He gives to us
freely that which we have not earned and do not deserve. Grace is the
only way by which a church can thrive. Grace makes us value people not
because they deserve it, but because God has first shown it to us.
Integrity
We value honest, open lives that reflect the values and
power of an Almighty God working in the life of a sinful man. We
believe that our yes should be yes and no should be no.
Commitment
We place great value in believing that there are some things that are
greater than our personal lives and these things, especially God’s
things, are worth committing to with a promise that we will give our
very best. We believe that commitment produces accountability and
motivation.
Family
We believe that God has created the family in the image of His own
plurality; that the family is the foundation of society and that it is
God’s means by which we find our most basic needs met through human
relationships. It is, therefore, worth all of the effort to protect,
strengthen and preserve.
Fellowship
We believe that joy and laughter are the creation of God and that He has
given these to us for the benefit of our spiritual man. We believe that
bringing people together for the sake of enjoying our commonly shared
worlds, both spiritual and human, will produce a better quality of life.
Hope
We value the promise of there being a better tomorrow. God told us that
it was in hope that we turned to God for salvation He has promised that
there will always be hope. We value the belief that the best is yet to
come and that we can look forward with anticipation to the goodness of
God.
