Our Vision Statement ( Purpose
Statement )
Still Water Christian Fellowship exists to exalt God through the lives
of people who have been redeemed by Jesus Christ and who are being
transformed by Him to become like Him.
We
are striving to glorify God with a passionate ministry that includes
meaningful worship, teaching the truth, bringing the “Good News” to the
lost ( locally and throughout the world ), the care of those in need,
the power of participating in His purpose, the enjoyment of His grace,
the fellowship of believers and the spiritual growth of those who will
trust and obey Him.
We
believe that we have been led by God to minister to the people of
central RI with a Bible teaching emphasis within the framework of a
warm, interactive atmosphere.
We
are committed to a congregational government that values the perspective
of every member. It is our vision to grow a church that reaches people
with a message of hope and forgiveness, both here and abroad, through
practical Biblical instruction that is relevant to the people and the
needs of their culture, in order to honor God, change lives for good and
plant more churches.
Our Purpose:
A. To provide regular services for public worship,
prayer and praise, giving thanks to God for all His attributes and for
the many spiritual blessings we have in Christ (John 4:23; Heb. 13:15).
B. To spread the gospel by the personal witness of
individual believers and by sending and supporting missionaries of like
precious faith who are in agreement with our purpose and doctrine (Matt.
28:19-20; Luke 24:47; Acts 1:8, 13:2-3, 15:3; Rom. 10:14-15; Eph.
2:8-9, 4:13 ).
C. To maintain a ministry of teaching the Word of
God in accordance with sound doctrine; equipping the saints to
wholeheartedly love the Lord, to "stand firm" in the faith, to refute
error, and to cultivate a servant’s heart (2 Tim. 4:2; Jas. 5:20;
Eph.4:12-13; 6:7,11-14; Matt. 22:37-38; 2 Thes. 2:15; Gal. 5:13; Col.
1:28; Titus 2:12; Luke 4:8).
D. To shepherd and care for the physical and
spiritual needs of the brethren as God enables through the gifts of His
people (1 Pet. 5:2-3; 2 Cor. 8:4-7; Gal. 6:10; Phil. 4:10, 14, 16).
E. To provide for the fellowship of all the saints,
the promotion of love among its members, and the administration of the
spiritual gifts of its body (Psa. 55:14; John 13:34; Acts 2:42; 2 Cor.
13:14; Phil. 2:1-2; 1 John 1:3;
1 Cor. 12:4, 7, 14; Eph. 2:19) that the world
might know that we "stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for
the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who
oppose" (Phil. 1:27-28).
F. To become a channel of God’s grace to those in
need both in our church and in our community. To care for such as the
widow, the orphan, the homeless, the poor, the sick, the imprisoned,
etc. Jas.1:27; Lk.10:33-35; Mat.25:40; Prov.14:21, 31; 19:17;
21:13
